poker.. again?

Nice. Went poker-ing with boris, wl, ivan, fw and cf today. I didn't learn much, except I found out that rumours abound about Boris's mom is true. She is really fierce one => she managed to scam me with nothing when I had a pair. Also, I learned that money makes the world go round (not that I already didn't know that little nugget of information)

Didn't find out till much later that there were 50 cards in the deck (two "six"es were missing). I wasn't really overly concerned about that fact, because I managed to break even my losses at the end (which totalled to about $20) , but I imagined that fanwei and chinfung would be quite furious. Oh well.

Moral of the story- don't fight with the Lau foundation at their territory. Mother and son both ate up a fair bit of my fortune. Sigh.

As for online poker, I think I've pretty much given up on it. What with indiscriminate and illogical confiscating of chips, and the whole uselessness of the concept, Zynga just wants people to indulge in their real life currency exchange, and despise people who actually manage to beat the system with luck and maybe a bit of skill. Not to mention the fact that I have, oh, $5000 worth of chips now. Sigh, still can remember the times when I had $4,000,000 worth of chips.. $5000 was but small change I used to zam other people's faces.

Those were the days..

Anyway. Quite happy that I won three rounds of dota in a row. I realise that DotA is actually really a waste of your life.. and there is really no point to it, but like Nigel says, "ITS ADDICTIVE". No fucking joke. Playing dota now is like some sort of a competition for me- to see how long it takes before the opponent quits the game. The current record stands at about 5 minutes. Just keep aiming the noobs and they'll leave. Eventually.

Omg I have to wake up at 7.30 later today. The horror...
